The essential proposition of the Tinglobal group has from the very beginning been based upon reuse. We believe this positions us at the heart of the industry hot topic of Green IT.

With the beginnings of the EU WEEE directive in 1999, our history has been steeped in sustainability and environmentally sound disposal. However, with the emphasis of the directive on recycling (shredding and re-processing) our activity has always been centered on what we consider to be an even higher level of sustainability-the re-use of the product.

To prolong the life of a viable product ( to say nothing of the enormous essential value in the refurbished product proposition) is an aim in complete harmony with sustainability and preservation of the earth’s resources.

The majority of product we supply to our customer base is the previous generation-what the industry sometimes calls n-1. However, the refurbished products we supply may be anything from as new (just a matter of days old), up to in extreme cases even 10-15 years old for some legacy product needed by maintenance companies.

Where product has reached a stage where it is no longer economically viable, we also provide a service that not only ensures environmentally sound destruction and recycling of product, but also provides customers with the vital certainty that data has been securely destroyed. Recent high profile cases of confidential data have highlighted this issue, and the increasing role of directives such as Sarbanes Oxley have imposed a clear responsibility on data security compliance on organisations.

We understand the need to be able to demonstrate our Corporate Social Responsibility credentials. We are CAESER accredited, but this commitment is nothing new for us. One of our root principles from inceptions reads: To be a well managed, profitable, productive and environmentally committed company conscious of our responsibilities to all our stakeholders, upholding the highest ethics in all areas.

Our environmental management system underpins our processes too, and earlier this year we were successfully recertified with the environmental standard ISO 14001:2004.
